A Little Bit About Me...
Born and raised an hour outside of Los Angeles, my life has been more than sunny skies and sandy beaches...

Graduating from college with a bachelor's degree in psychology, I feel that this was really only the beginning of my education. The true learning began when I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression just a few years later. Since then, I have come to see the world from a new perspective that can only be shaped through lived experience.

Like the volatile climate of this state, I have experienced times of physical and emotional drought, followed by periods where my life has been in unexpected, exquisite bloom. Between the highs and the lows, the lessons I have learned and the immense beauties I have discovered have shaped and reshaped my life. It has been an emotional and spiritual journey that I would never have chosen for myself; yet, I have no regrets about having traveled this road.

If there is anything that I have learned on this journey, it is how very small I am, and how wonderful this actually is! As the late (and canonized) Mother Teresa of Calcutta used to say, "None of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love."

Welcome and Blessings!

Poem of the Week
on the difference of light
things look different
in the light

places once
black, frightening
now pale
less daunting

memories, once
so painful
mere glimmer now
of reality past

essence
no longer consumed
by darkness
